60 SECONDS TO CONVINCE


The revamped ’60 Seconds to Convince’ Awards Programme is embracing the digital age in 2011. Each vendor entering this year’s awards will have the opportunity to record a one-minute video presentation for display during DISTREE XXL ensuring maximum exposure. A jury will select the winners for the live final where the entire event audience will select the winner using live electronic voting. All video entries will also be available on the dedicated DISTREE Events YouTube site.

The ’60 Seconds to Convince’ Awards Programme is a powerful platform for vendors to showcase their latest products and solutions to distributors from across the EMEA region. Styled on the concept of an elevator pitch, vendors can enter in one of two categories: Product Design and Product Innovation. A third award for Best Video Presentation is available and will be selected by the jury. The winning video for the Best Presentation Award will be played during the live ’60 Seconds to Convince’ session.

Vendors will have the opportunity to record their one-minute promotional videos for their product on Tuesday 8th February in the dedicated DISTREE XXL video studio set up in the main event hotel. Vendors must choose the category they wish to enter for and will only be permitted a maximum of three takes (attempts) to shoot their video. Each video will run as a continuous one-minute clip and editing or splicing of content is not permitted.

Vendor videos will be filmed on a first come first served basis from 10:00 until 18:00. If a vendor has not recorded a video entry by 18:00, they will not be considered for the awards. On the evening of Tuesday 8th February, a jury made up of five people (two DISTREE team members and three independent channel experts) will review all the videos. The top eight vendor videos in each award category will then proceed to the final at 19:00 on Wednesday 9th February.

During the live session, each finalist will be required to make a two-minute presentation on stage, and will then be asked a few questions by members of the jury. The eventual winner will be decided by live electronic voting. Additional videos may also be screened if time permits. All of the videos shot for vendors will be made available on the internet and will also be prominently displayed during the event itself on screens close to the Exhibition Area. These new and exciting changes to the ’60 Seconds to Convince’ Awards Programme format are designed to give all vendors maximum exposure both during and after DISTREE XXL.
